Congratulations to our Professional of the Quarter, Edie Fricker, Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist at St. James Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center!

Edie Fricker has been working in healthcare for about twelve years, eight of those years at St. James. “I was singing here for at least 15 to 20 years before working in Recreation; the place that inspired me, hired me! I went back to school to obtain my CTRS; I wanted to be here all the time. It was a true full circle moment.”

She continued, “The best part of my day is the sharing of love and community; sometimes we’re so busy, but when you lock eyes with someone at that moment and comfort them, that’s the best. That’s what it’s all about. It’s just magic.”

Fricker received an abundance of nominations for Professional of the Year, and she shared that she was proud and humbled: “I am blessed, honored, and grateful as someone who works in this field and community. It makes me want to cry. It’s a team approach; we have the luxury to engage and get to know someone. We want people here to live, not just exist. We are here to give them life. I’m thankful.”
