St. James, October 3, 2013: St. James Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center, located at 275 Moriches Road in St. James recently opened their doors to the community hosting a fun and fabulous event.
Attendees from Arbors of Islandia East, Arbors of Islandia West, Sunrise of Holbrook, Smithtown Senior Center, Lakeshore Assisted Living, Maple Point at Rockville center, Brookhaven Senior Center, resident volunteers of St. James Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center, and the family and friends of Mrs. Anna Mario dined on a delicious buffet catered by Rocco’s in St. James, while watching live performances by the professional dancers of Arthur Murray Dance Studios.
The dance teams donned magnificent Vegas style costumes and performed Tangos, Waltzes and a Salsa dance that brought everyone to their feet.
The guest of honor, Anna Mario, 106 year old resident of St. James Rehab, was surrounded by five generations of family who spoke lovingly about Anna and the care she received atSt. James. Elaine Mario, Anna Mario’s daughter, stated, “We have never seen her happier. She cannot stop talking about it and sincerely appreciates all that was done for her.”
The afternoon was filled with many memorable moments. Many guests stating they felt they had attended a Broadway production! In a lovely ‘thank you’ card sent from Elaine Mario and her husband Frank they are quoted to say, “To all that made this possible and all who worked so hard in making this event so memorable for Mom, her family and friends, we extend a thank you from the bottom of our hearts. They say in life you should always ‘reach for the stars,’ but on that day the stars reached out to Mom and gave her a day she will never forget.”
